Building on our cyber risk management expertise

Our Vice President of Business Insurance Services, Olivier Bue, is embarking on a journey to expand on our cyber risk expertise. Only five people in Canada were selected to participate in the eight-month program required to achieve a Cyber COPE Insurance Certification℠ (CCIC) designation. The CCIC was developed and delivered by Chubb Insurance Company and Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Policy and Information Systems.

Consisting of three residential sessions located at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) and Silicon Valley (California), a series of virtual learning modules and a capstone project, the major topics covered in the CCIC designation include:

• Cyber security foundations

• Cyber risk and resilience management

• Effective incident response

• Cyber law and regulation

• Developing custom insurance solutions

As part of this certification, students will develop an engagement strategy and a custom solution for a chosen organization. This engagement strategy and plan is designed to allow students to apply several of the methods, tools, and techniques taught during the program.

Students will learn more about what high-performing advisors need to know in order to thrive in their roles, including how to interact with executive leadership, how to provide analysis and support in effective cyber risk management, and approaches for building and maintaining strong relationships with prospective cyber risk insurance clients. Upon completion, brokers and agents will be armed with an understanding of industry best practices in cyber security risk management, governance and operations.

Discover why this program is relevant to clients of The Hull Group. Look for our monthly newsletter in your inbox where Olivier will offer key learnings as he completes his certification and deepens his cyber risk management expertise.
